I was born in İstanbul, in 1956. I finished my primary, secondary, and higher education in İstanbul. Due to my interest in literary ways of expression since childhood, I gravitated towards poetry. In my opinion, poetry is a way of conveying an emotional state, representing ones own existence and addressing another person.
I found the opportunity to apply what I had acquired from my studies to the field of my profession. One year after my graduation, in 1978, I started to work in the Akşam Newspaper. Then in 1980, after succeeding in the four-stage interviews, I had worked in TRT as a correspondent and editor in Diyarbakır and İstanbul for 31 years.
I joined the academia at first as voluntarily (from 1994 to 2003), then as an hourly paid lecturer (between 2000 and 2010). I found the chance to share my professional knowledge and experience. During this period, starting with 2002, I wrote eight books covering different topics of journalism, three of which based on my academic theses.
In 2011, I worked at İstanbul Aydın University as an assistant professor, after that at Yeni Yüzyıl University. I have been working at Haliç University since February 2016.
I view myself as a lifelong student. I aspire to gain new knowledge in different fields with the following motto There is so much to learn. . Therefore, I completed two undergraduate and two masters degrees.
I have written four poetry books with the idea that words can be expressed not only scientifically, but also in an artistic way. There are also three completed poetry manuscripts of mine, one of which is about to get published this year. One of my lyrics named Acı was composed and released in an album while my nine other composed lyrics will be in another album in pre-production.
