Having completed his high school education at Üsküdar American Academy, Prof. Zeynep Aslı Alıcı graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Business, Department of Industrial Engineering in 1987. Continuing her graduate education in the field of economics, Prof. Alıcı started her academic career in 1989 as a Research Assistant at Istanbul University. She completed her Master's Degree at Istanbul University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Economics. She continued her PhD studies at the same institute. Within the scope of the British Chevening Scholarship provided by the British Government, she conducted her doctoral thesis at the London School of Economics in 1994 -1995 and finished her Ph.D. in 1998. She became Assistant Professor in 1999, Associate Professor in 2007, and Professor in 2012. She held various academic and administrative positions at Istanbul University, Kadir Has University and Yeditepe University. Between 2007 and 2020, she worked as the Assistant Dean at Yeditepe University, Faculty of Commercial Sciences, and also served as the Head of the International Finance Department. Prof. Zeynep Aslı Alıcı’s working areas include financial economy, macroeconomics and econometric modelling. She has several articles published in various national and international journals and presentations at international conferences. Joining Haliç University in 2021, Prof. Dr. Alıcı serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration.
