Rector's Message

Dear Students,

Within the framework of Haliç University Coronavirus measures, considering the risks that our students and academic staff may be exposed to, it will continue its education and training with the Haliç-X system as of March 23, 2020.

As a part of our university's digital transformation strategy, we are making our distance education system, which already exists, cover all our courses. In our Distance Education Commission established for this purpose, all Faculty, School and Vocational School representatives and Technical Teams have brought us to a usable point by constantly working on the perfecting of the system and its coverage to our entire University. From now on, we focus on our work to make the system more user-friendly day by day.

As of March 23, 2020, you will be able to continue all your classes online by using the distance learning window of our website. In addition, we will be publishing your new curriculum prepared in accordance with the conditions of distance education on our website. You will be able to access the content through the Moodle (Learning Management System) including notes, presentations, videos etc. about your courses. Our students and academicians will be able to access the Haliç-X teaching-learning management system with their automation username and password they currently use.

The live parts of our lessons will be held mainly through the Adobe Connect system. In this system, our students and academicians will be able to come together simultaneously and process their lessons on the interactive platform in a physical and visual way as in the physical and actual learning environment; they can also use interactions such as small questionnaires, question-answer, presentations. These courses will be supported by the learning management system. Through this platform, measurement and evaluation can be done with video, audio, content sharing, discussion forum and different question types, test and homework tools. In addition, the instant messaging tools of the system can be actively used to enable students to interact with each other and with the related instructors. In addition to these, our teachers will be able to use other software such as Skype and Zoom depending on their preferences, especially in application-intensive lessons. In addition, close follow-up of your projects and assignments will be carried out by your teachers.

In this period, our Distance Education Commission works on technical and applicability issues related to how to make exams, which is one of the most frequently asked questions. We will announce the exam system we are establishing to you as soon as possible.

I especially wish our students success and I require all of our students to follow our announcements about Haliç-X through university e-mails and not to stay out of Digital Haliç.
